Shehram Majid MD

Hi there!

I founded CIP Psychiatry to create a place where patients could access high-quality, in-network psychiatric care that is both personalized and comprehensive.

I’m originally from Houston, TX and completed my medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I began my internship in Internal Medicine/Psychiatry at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and then transitioned to New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital to complete the remainder of my psychiatry residency. In September 2022, I became board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Throughout my training, I have worked across a wide range of clinical settings including veteran affair medical centers, community mental health centers, cancer clinics, HIV/AIDS clinics, neurology clinics, geriatric clinics, inpatient adult, geriatric, and child psychiatry units, substance use/detox programs, and psychiatric emergency rooms. This breadth of experience has shaped how I approach care for individuals facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, ADHD, grief, family and relationship struggles, identity struggles, and life transitions. I have also worked extensively with people navigating the impact of dysfunctional family systems, childhood emotional neglect, and domestic abuse.

My treatment philosophy emphasizes a whole-person approach. While medication can be an important tool, I also incorporate therapy, lifestyle strategies, and wellness supports into treatment planning. I take time to build meaningful rapport, understand the unique challenges my patients face, and create tailored care plans that support both immediate relief and long-term growth. Together, we will work toward goals that empower you to feel better and live more fully.

Why Washington, DC and Houston, TX?

After completing residency, I practiced in Washington, DC for several years, building strong connections with both patients and referring providers. In 2025, I moved out of DC and closer to my hometown of Houston, TX.

I continue to care for my established DC patients via secure telehealth. This ensures continuity of care while expanding psychiatric access to new patients in the Houston-Sugar Land area and via telehealth to new patients in Washington, DC and the rest of Texas.
